Rhondda Cynon Taf’s three main theatres, which date back to the early 20th Century, offer year-round entertainment including music, dance, comedy, stage productions and the latest feature films.
Our ever-evolving programme includes exclusive Welsh dates by artists as varied as Ray Davies, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Rob Brydon, Jimmy Webb, The Buzzcocks, Cerys Matthews and Ricky Tomlinson - plus international contemporary dance, stand-up comedy from award-winning acts including Andy Parsons, Rhod Gilbert and Lucy Porter and drama from local legend Frank Vickery, Mappa Mundi and Red Shift.

Built in 1937 from miners’ subscriptions, this unique and striking building nestles in a residential street in Aberdare. The auditorium is especially distinctive, featuring acoustic nodules and intriguing wall friezes. Its programme of events includes drama, ballet, opera, comedy, light entertainment, music, children’s events, educational events and productions by local community groups and schools.

Take pART is an exciting new initiative funded by the Arts Council of Wales and run by Rhondda Cynon Taf Cultural Services. It offers a varied programme of participatory and educational activities for everyone living, studying, working in or visiting Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Linked between the three Cultural Services venues – the Park and Dare, the Coliseum Theatre and the Muni Arts Centre – together with the Arts Development Unit, community/arts organisations and visiting performing artists and arts companies, Take pART aims to increase participation in the arts and cultural life of the borough.
Zoom - the young people's film and media development programme, No Fit State Circus, and Elemental Force are among the professional companies and artists providing the Take pART programme.
